Menaji, The Man's Makeup?

Yup, its true! Menaji has come out with a line of skin care products for men! Here's a little scoop.

Michele Probst is a professional makeup artist whose many male clients pushed her into creating the Menaji line of skin care and grooming products for men. "They kept asking me what they could do on their own," she explains. "What could they use to cover a blemish or a scratch. Well, there weren't any products out there made specifically for men. That's why I started Menaji."

Michele Probst, founder of the Menaji product line, is an internationally known makeup artist with ten year's experience in fashion photography, television, film, and video. Some of the men she has groomed include: Vice President Al Gore, Dallas Cowboy quarterback Troy Aikman, Peter Frampton, Evander Holyfield and Jay Leno. She has specialized in making her celebrity male clients look good without looking made-up.

Menaji products have been developed in consultation with dermatologists and chemists to enhance the natural healing properties of men's skin.

"Healthy skin looks best," Probst says. "So, if you've got a nick, hydrate it with our skin soother, then cover it with our concealer so you can look good while it heals."

Menaji Products are developed from all natural ingredients with no animal testing. I have personally been trying out some of their products. The ones I have tried are: 911 Eye Gel. The first part of a man's face to show age and fatigue is the eye area. This 100% all natural eye gel amazingly reduces any puffiness or darkness around the eye area within 30 minutes. The most soothing facial experience you'll ever have; Lip Agent, The lip-licking secret agent that heals your dry or chapped lips and keeps you from being all lipped out. Life is short...lip longer! The best part is you don't have to use it 20 times a day; Menaji Glycolic Skin Toner, which helps in making your face look and feel younger by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is accomplished by painlessly exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells with glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is a naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugar cane. Glycolic acid is also very effective in the treatment of acne. Menaji toner is suitable for all skin types, and is not photosensitive. It takes 2 weeks to visibly change the skin's appearance; The Masque: a once a week treatment to thoroughly deep-clean your face. The Masque clears the skin's pores of environmental toxins, dirt and debris that get deep into your pores. This all natural adobe colored masque leaves your skin feeling soft and firm. I have enjoyed using the products and will continue.

Two of their other products I haven't tried yet are CAMO, the world's first all-natural and invisible concealing agent for men. Designed for the male professional, CAMO is an undetectable concealing agent, that makes dark circles, blemishes, sunspots, and razor burns literally disappear. Water-resistant and dermatologist-approved, CAMO not only covers blemishes, bruises, and nicks naturally, it also aids in healing the skin. The CAMO "stick" is housed in a sleek black container and comes in three specially designed formulas: light, dark, and bronze. CAMO is hypo-allergenic, fragrance free and has an SPF of 8; and, the Hydratoran, all natural, alcohol free moisturizer, with no detectable fragrance. Hydrate your face and neck for up to 16 hours after a shave-or anytime you need to feel refreshed. Why dry your face out with a painful, dehydrating, alcohol-based aftershave, when you can hydrate it?

These products are soon to be made available at Bourbon Cuts next to Cafe Lafitte's in Exile. Try them out, I'm sure you'll like them! A definite 3 snap approval.

Esplanade Pharmacy Delivers

Pharmacist & proprietor Carlton Charles has dedicated himself to good & heartfelt service to the G/L/B/T community. Carlton's fully stocked pharmacy, friendly staff and delivery service is ready, willing and able to serve your pharmaceutical needs. This especially comes in handy when you just can't get out to get your medication. AIDS patients and bed-ridden patrons can have their needs delivered right to their front door. Besides the pharmacy they have included basic shopping for those last minute items-from Ragu to Saran Wrap-even a small deli for a quick sandwich. If you are in need of some medication delivery, give them a call at 504.523.4103 and tell them Sonny at Ambush sent you!

Another bit of info I found out is that Carton has just been appointed to the AIDS Planning Counsel and serving on the service delivery committee. Very nice honor, don't you think?

Vaqueros On Magazine

If you would like a change of pace in the eating realm, Vaqueros may be what you are looking for since it serves lunch and dinner daily with a fantastic array of appetizers, main courses and desserts. We had a fantastic lunch the other day and I feasted on a large appetizer of some incredible chicken and beef nachos. My main course was the Mexican Platter with a fantastic chili releno, chicken enchilada, black beans & rice-out of this world! I was a plump boy after eating all that and had to pass on trying out a dessert.

The staff was very sweet and a couple of the servers were very easy on the eyes. The surroundings are fabulous yet intimate with genuine rawhide leather seating and rope napkin rings, along with a beautiful indoor back patio. It's a must-see and great dining for a date, so please check it out!

A Little Bit More Pride!

Pride is trucking along quite well and people are jumping on like never before to help put the fest together! The board is very excited about all the new faces onboard. Remember that if you are interested, we need your help! For more info call the PrideLINE at 504.949.9555 and leave a message or call the Pride Fax On Demand at 504.524.4644 for an updated Fact Sheet and/or contracts for the Marketplace and the parade!

This will be the biggest pride New Orleans has ever had! So far LazFest, the weekend drag stage and the Country/Western sections are booked into the park.

The Pride Parade route that I gave last issue has only been approved by the Alliance. It is still pending approval of the city, though. We will keep you updated on all that comes to confirmation!
