Flounder's, A Must Stop Memorial Day Weekend

Flounder's Chowder House is sure to be a must stop dining experience during the giant Memorial Day Weekend blowout in Pensacola Beach, Florida. It's located at 800 Quietwater Beach Rd., practically across the street from Hampton Inn On The Beach, one of the host hotels for Memorial Weekend.

The restaurant has an excellent selection of fresh seafood, choice steaks and fowl. Our favorite is the mahi-mahi or yellow fin tuna ($17.95) done on an oak fired wood grill which enhances the flavors to excess. Although you have a choice of pan Asian style, Creole blackened, Bourbon glazed or citrus buerre blanc, our choices are Bourbon glazed mahi-mahi and citrus buerre blanc yellow fin tuna. The oak fired grill is also utilized in the restaurant's choice premium Black Angus cuts of beef. The sirloin steak done rare is an excellent choice at $14.95.

They also have excellent scallop, shrimp and oyster entrees including beer boiled shrimp and beer battered oysters. And speaking of oysters, you can't leave here without trying there house appetizer, Baked Oysters Pensacola Beach Style. Using fresh Louisiana oysters, the chef covers them with parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, garlic and parsley flakes, baked and served golden brown (1/2 doz. $5.95, 1 doz. $10.95).

Open Mon.-Thurs. 11am-12midnight, Fri.-Sat. 11am-2am, & Sun. 10am-12midnight. For more info, call 850.932.2003.
