Austin Tavern Guild
Elects New Officers/Members

Recently, the Austin Tavern Guild elected new officers and new members into the organization. Elected and leading the charge as president is Randy Cunniff, owner from the Splash Video Bar. The Vice President is Bill Bailey, owner from Rainbow Cattle Company and the Secretary/Treasurer elected unanimously is Corey Duckett, manager from `Bout Time. Corey is a charter member of the Austin Tavern Guild and has established many years of hard work. Congratulations and thank you Corey for all you have done for Austin.

The Austin Tavern Guild sponsors our yearly Splash Day in early May, the 4th of July Picnic at Waterloo Park and Last Splash in Sept. Members of the Austin Tavern Guild are as follows: Charlie's Austin, 'Bout Time, The Forum, Oilcan Harry's, Rainbow Cattle Company, The United Court of Austin, Midtowne Spa, Rhythm House, The Blue Flame, and its newest members Ambush Magazine and Splash Video Bar. Both the Edge and Dick's will soon reactivate their membership back into the ATG and the 1920's Club will soon hopefully become a member. Lastly, there is still hope for Chain Drive to join the round table knight's elite.

When's The Next Ambush Out And What's With The Web Sites?

Ok, I know I have stated before a million times and I will keep saying it. Ambush comes out in Austin biweekly with distribution every two weeks normally on Thurs. evenings. Once the edition hits the streets, the deadline for the next publication is on the following Tuesday. Since we are not a daily or weekly publication, many events, features or pictures get placed for the next edition or sometimes may not make the paper at all. Due to press time, wrap-up features and pictures of Memorial Day - Meltdown '98 will be featured in the June 11 edition. The Austin Pride Week wrap-up festivities as well as pictures will be featured in the June 25.

Ambush Magazine 2000 is distributed throughout Austin, Houston, Dallas and the Gulf South States and yes, the world. In addition, all columns, editorials and pictures featured throughout the publication may be found on the Internet via www.ambushmag.com. Gay bars around the state are featured under www.gaybars.com. Ambush has recently created special sections for Texas in the fast growing website called www.gaytexas.net. Austin is featured under its own section at www.gayaustin.net. Another great site is www.gaytexas.org where one may find links on the following organizations in Austin: AIDS Services of Austin, Central Texas Transgender Society, Circuit Austin, Cornerstone Gay & Lesbian Center, Heart of Texas Bears, Lesbian Bisexual Gay Student Association/UT, MCC Austin, Out Youth, Row Team Austin, She Says/UT, Texas Gay Rodeo Association , University Alliance/UT, and various other links.

Check them all out and if your organization or business is not listed, please contact AmbushOnline at 800.876.1484 or E-mail at webmaster@gayaustin.net or myself at Ozparade@aol.com. Lastly, welcome new Ambush family members China Doll and Alan See as our neighbors to the east in Houston. Both China and Alan are making great strives in developing our newest market in Texas and we wish them luck. Ambush is also distributed in Dallas at selected locations. Ambush representatives are still needed for Dallas/Ft. Worth and San Antonio. Contact Ambush at the phone or E-mail addresses above.
