Dear Ms. Pizanie,
I wanted to comment on your column in Ambush XVI #10, "One More Time." I certainly sympathize with Crystal Little and other transgenders who experience prejudice within the gay community. It is very disturbing that these prejudices exist and are so pervasive throughout all cultures. While techology(sic) is bringing about progress at amazing speed, it is sad that there is no end in sight for the xenophobia that seems to infect everyone, perhaps inherently. It's understandable that we're most comfortable with like, but why we must disparage what is different I don't understand.I do feel that the fractures in the community are substantiated by each sub group wanting special designation. For years I have advocated that in order to be truly united, we should identify with ONE label, and that should be GAY. Prejudice has already entered the picture when the movement is subdivided into gay & lesbian, and on & on. Thank you!
