Marchin' & A Flappin'

Practically every Friday night in the French Quarter, Ms. Fly and her entourage head out on a bar hopping frenzy. Spotted at the Golden Lantern, the lovely group was well on their way for an evening most would not remember, and in the case of this group, just might want to forget. With Tony, Jo, Drewsey, Peter and Hoyle of Petunias, Fly and Caroline of the Financial District, Ms. Verona of the Golden Lantern, and of course, us, how could this night be anything but hilarious.

Jo taught us all about marchin' and a flappin'! It's one of those things that you would have to had been there to get it! Well Jo, we got it, and we practice every day on our a.m. walks. It's a must in any weight loss program. Did ya'll know that 15 and 1/4 Quarter blocks equal one mile? So for us, it's 31 blocks a day to do a little over two miles of brisk walking or, in Jo's case, it's a marchin' and a flappin'.

Society & Culture

Do Day came and went for another year with Miss Do sporting a fabu new Ray Cole. The colorful hand painted silk dress was a gift for Miss Do. This annual b-day extravaganza is the social event of the year for the Double Play. No one in town would dare miss Do's birthday. With all the celebrities there, the highlight had to be Doc in a suit complete with coat and tie, and not even a baseball cap.

MRB was next up for the Krewe of Petronius' giant Fiesta de Mayo celebration. This year's auction had some great selections, including an incredible gold Russian icon, which we beat out Ms. Fly for.

Even though we're dieting, those who ate the buffet said it was sumptuous as usual. Ms. Fly's Senorita Revue featured a bevy of beauties including Klorocks Bleachman, Ineeda Roc, Olive, Lisa Beauman, Stephanie Williams and Paloma.

Petunias' Miss Hotard won the raffle grand prize digital camera. With a capacity crowd, the event raised over $4,000 for the krewe and brought in 6 new members bringing new membership up to 15. wayne

Lorenzo's Pizzera & Bar packed the house for the club's Big Drag Fest. The huge crowd enjoyed the talents of Marcy Marcel, Rusty Larue, Tracy Lynn, Page Turner, Sharon Needles and Dione Larico.

Although all the girls did a great job, kudos to first time showgirl Page Turner, and not to many times Sharon Needles. Lorna was the special guest bartender joining Bozz & Mike. And don't forget, you can now order all your favorite Lorenzo menu choices right online at food.com.

And what about those flying queens? Yes, Wayne and Jim of Lafitte's, John, baldheaded Dan and Mumbo of Double Play just survived a parachute jump.
