Subject: Hurricane Love Leaves Legacy
I have just finished reading a letter from Southern Decadence Grand Marshal XXV Miss Love, printed in the June 26-July 9,1998 edition of Ambush . In that letter Miss Love tries to justify the excuses she gives for changing the location of the coronation ceremony for GM XXVI from the MRB to another location. Miss Love implies that Ambush Magazine printed advertising regarding the coronation ceremony at the MRB and included that same information on their web sites for all the world to see ,contrary to her original intentions.

Who does Hurricane Love think she is kidding? I do not believe Miss Love's poor attempt to cover up what actually happened. Obviously, Miss Love informed someone, namely Ambush, of her intentions regarding the coronation at the MRB. Why would Ambush risk their reputation by printing the date, time, and location of the coronation of GMXXVI against Miss Love's wishes????? This event is an integral part of Southern Decadence, a celebration second only to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Hurricane Love is supposed to be the one who plans the event.

Ambush cannot possibly be anything except shocked and embarrassed by Miss Love's "selling out at the last minute" approach to what appears to be a situation involving a "lucrative offer". A tea dance??????? Please. I, for one, am counting the days until Hurricane Love blows herself out....WHEREever and WHENever.I also hope this serves as a reminder to future Grand Marshals of the importance of selecting a truly decadent Grand Marshal, not a greedy one. As for Hurricane's legacy...DUD, YA KNOW...PITY! It will be interesting to see who will be the new manager of the you know WHEREever!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Trent Lott(o)'s comments
I being a resident of Mississippi am ashamed to have the claim to being in the state of the 3rd most powerful man in America; as I am sure most gays are. If you could pass his address on to your readers; I'm grateful. I have expressed my disbelief to him and encourage all others to do the same. Mailing Address and E-mail are: Sen Trent Lott, U.S. Senate, 487 Russell Senate Office Bldg., Washington, DC 20510-0001 OR E-mail: senatolott@senate.gov

Subject: great stuff, but missing link
I'm in the midst of spending all too many hours browsing your web pages, first looking for my friends on theBig Easy EXpress pages and now catching up on "Madame John Dodt's Legacy."

But I think I've found something screwy-the Issue 4 for 1997 link takes us to the index page for 4/98-tho the links from that page take us neither to Issue 4.97 or Issue 4.98.

And here's another project (like any of us need more projects!): round up all of Newlin's wonderful columns (plus the earlier ones that aren't on the web page???) and make them accessible from a single page-they are truly a treasure!! thanks again-can't wait to get down to Bourbon St. this summer!

Subject: HELP!!!
I am trying to locate two friends of mine in the New Orleans area: Chris Thompson and Michelle Booysen (who would have just moved there from South Africa). We all met over the internet, but I moved, and Michelle moved to New Orleans to live with Chris. Now, I have no address or phone number for either of them.

A woman from the French Quarter suggested that I run an ad with you or that you might be able to help me. I have been desperately trying to find them and ask that either of them call or E-Mail Kelly at 678-422-0980 or KCord @gateway.net.

Since I corresponded mainly with Michelle, I know very little about Chris .. I think that she is a bartender at one of the gay bars parttime and teaches fulltime. Can you possibly help me??? Suggestions??? Thank you!!!!
-Kelly
