The terrific trio that gave us Daryl's Perils has struck again. With book and lyrics by Ricky Graham and David Cuthbert and music by Harry Mayronne, Jr., and direction by Ricky Graham, a brand-new musical comedy about Bourbon Street entertainers, circa 1958, hits the boards. Starring Becky Allen as Busty Rusty Russell, the Saucy Sophisticate of Song who has organized a Bail Bond Benefit for her SOS fund (Save Our Strippers), and Michael Bennett as Buddy Ray, the erascible emcee of this vaudeville turn, the show features Renee Maxwell as Dixie Lee Barrymore, the Brernhardt of Burlesque, Sean Patterson as My-O-My star Dani Delmar, the dance team of Lothar and Lupe (Roy Haylock, who also doubles as costume designer), with Chris Wecklein, Veronica Giacano, Lara Nelms, Troi Bechet, Amanda Hebert and Phil Blunt as a heckler. Ty Tracy does his annual Summer Youth Workshop production utilizing the budding talents of the city's younger thespians focusing, this year, on George Abbott's adaptation of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors loaded with one of Rodgers and Hart's more memorable scores ("This Can't Be Love," "Sing For Your Supper" and "Falling In Love With Love"). Leading the cast of over 40 are Robert Edgecombe, Mark Weinberg, Jermaine Keelen, Jason George, Nori Pritchard, Jennifer Carriere, Katy Weatherly, Karen Bienert, Margaret Prat, Chase Kamata and Sarah Stickney. Carl Walker reprises his hit musical revue of songs from the 70s that played this venue two years ago.
