The A List

hot tails of red stick
Volume 16/Issue 16

by Brad Benedict
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA

Because of my trip to Key West, I missed a lot of activities in the capital city. I did, however, get to see Curtis Thomas walk away with the Mr. Gay Louisiana title. It is unfortunate that each city doesn't have a preliminary for this event, but even if there had been ten other candidates, my man Curtis would have won.

I talked with Richard to find out about the Mark Wolff appearance recently. It seems that this arrogant p---k did George's a bad turn. He was there less than an hour, left abruptly, showed sweet Richard all the disrespect he could, and came across as a perfect A-hole of humanity. He was an expensive one for George's, and out of all the guys who have come here over the years to entertain, he ranks at the very bottom of the list, just as Ryan Idol ranks at the very bottom of the Oz heap or any other heap for that matter. It amazes me that these hunks of lesser humanity think they are gifts to mankind. As a Frenchman might say in reference to them, they're pure merde with a capital M. I'm very sorry this happened to Richard, and I hope all my readers will understand that this was beyond his means to correct, and he should not be blamed for this performer's asinine and brief performance. In fact, I wouldn't even call him a performer.

In my opinion, these guys should take lessons on how to act and perform from Atilla. Nice is the word for this guy.

I didn't get to talk with Obry or Trixxie, so I will have to wait until next time to tell you about the Miss Capitol City contest. It was held at Evolution and was one of the final contests for the year prior to the annual Miss Gay Louisiana pageant, which will be held in Alexandria later this year. I did run into Buddy at Hibiscus, and he caught me up on the latest at this outstanding dance emporium. He's also a Spanish Town neighbor.

I did go to the Blue Parrot before I left, and I had a nice visit with bartender Steve and some of the people there. Earlier in the week, I joined Parrot owners Don and Tom, and we went to Leonard's open house, which was a nice function. Mr. Butt Beautiful of 1998 was there. This little soft drink friend is really a doll and so nice to be around. Leonard opened his home to special friends for a very nice wine and cheese social, and everyone had a great time. Leonard is one of the nicer people around these days and a wonderful friend.

The Time Zone has a new mascot. Her name is Miss TeeZee Titty Pig, and you will see this beauty around for a long time to come. The boys over there needed a logo for their business, and this original piece of merchandise was a donation to them by a caring friend. I do think she's a beauty. Go by and check her out. You can also enjoy some of the fine drink specials offered by these guys.

Hibiscus Bookstore just got in a new supply of cards for all occasions. Damon's new associate, the stunningly sexy Kyle, is working in beautifully. My, but that sounds so sexy! Maybe I should have said working out beautifully. Whatever the case may be, Kyle is an asset here at the bookstore. Great comments are coming in from all sources on how nice he is, and he really is just that.

Tony, whom I met in Key West last week, is a former resident of Baton Rouge and asked about all his friends here. He worked with Committee of Friends while living and working in the capital city, and wants everyone to know that Virginia is treating him kindly. He and his significant other were in the islands on vacation. TTT had the good fortune of having another major article published while I was gone. He's such a fine specimen of humanity and a pride for the local Gay community.

I'll tell you next time about the Mr. and Miss Apollo contest and find out what else I missed while I was gone. This krewe is going strong and still has a few openings for memberships. You can find out more about membership from Damon at the bookstore or from that fine gentleman Larry of the wonderful Four Seasons Flowers and Gifts.

I do want to thank Don for that special gift. I found it on my desk when I returned, and it just made my mouth drip in anticipation.

Condolences go out to my new acquaintance Rob, who lost his mother so suddenly last week. This young man is one of the most personable and intelligent studs I've met in a long while, and we seem to have so much in common. He is definitely worth "hanging around and out with." And I plan to do just that!
