Discoveries in Culinary Delights...

The Marigny Brasserie, 640 Frenchmen, is one of the newest restaurants in town, boasting both cocktails and fine dining in a casual, yet elegant atmosphere. The restaurant, formerly Rubyfruit Jungle, has been beautifully redone as an artsy, yet airy and comfortable bistro with both table and booth seating available.

The menu is varied and is sure to tempt the palate of most anyone. We tried Sunday Brunch beginning with Tuna Tar Tare. The yellowfin tuna was quite an experience marinated in a chive-lime dressing served with Cajun caviar, goat cheese and pickled ginger. The red remoulade slaw was quite tasty, but the tuna dredged through wasabi aioli stole the show.

Quiche of the Day and Crawfish and Ravioli were our main selections. The quiche was unbelievable with a shrimp, crabmeat and Havarti combination, served with creamy grits and sauteed vegetables. The cheese ravioli was served in a savory seafood broth wth tomatoes, artichokes and capers, tender crisp celery and bell peppers, tossed with succulent crawfish tails.

After our brunch experience, we look forward to sampling the lunch and dinner selections.
