William G. Cravens

63, 1109 Treme St., passed away Aug. 2, 1998. Born in Cravenstown, TN, June 13, 1935, he is preceded in death by parents Onlie and Cassie (Vaughn) Cravens, brothers Leon and Ken, and sister Julia Leola.

He is survived by nieces Sherrie George of Cedar Park, TX, Janalou Poston of Jamestown, TN and nephew Steven Pelfrey of Rockwood, TN. Bill graduated from Alvin York Institution in 1953. He graduated from Draughn's Business College and spent 4 years in the U.S. Air Force working in Personnel. He spent many subsequent years as an accountant for Shell Oil.

Bill lived in various cities while working with Shell, making many friends along the way. He retired in 1977 when a rare medical condition rendered him unable to work. He still enjoyed travelling.

Bill lived in New Orleans for the past 12 years, enjoying the city's many sights, moods and the warm, friendly people. He will be missed by many.
