Scott Garrett Named Mr. Louisiana Leather 1999
The Lords of Leather presented the Mr. Louisiana Leather 1999 contest last Saturday, September 5, 1998, at Le Petite Theatre du Vieux Carre in the historic old French Quarter of New Orleans. The theater was packed for the occasion in what could be termed one of the best of all the contest productions staged by the Lords of Leather.
Scott Garrett, sponsored by Gargoyles, was named the winner in a closely contested event. First runner-up was Gregory Cain, who was Mr. Knights d'Orleans, and second runner was Chris Hall, sponsored by the Phoenix. Other contestants were Jonni Andolini, also sponsored by the Phoenix, and Javier Sandoval, sponsored by Dr. Billy.
Masters of Ceremonies were Frank Nowicki and Jay Wolf, who interpreted for the hearing impaired. Judges were: Tony Mills, International Mr. Leather 1998; Ed Ryder, Mr. Pittsburg Leather 1998; Michael McVay, Mr. L.A. Leather 1998; Mark Malan, Mr. Piston's Leather 1997; Larry Everett, International Mr. Leather 1995; Drake Higginbotham, Mr. Louisiana Leather 1998; David Rhodes, of The Leather Journal; and Lorna Pierce, Miss Louisiana Leather 1998.
Special entertainment was presented by a group of excellent dancers at the beginning of the program followed by songs from Jay Cooper and Danny Alford, and a charity collection was conducted during the program.
