Bourbon Pub/Parade Second Annual "Big Dick Contest"

In the true spirit of Mardi Gras, the Bourbon Pub and Parade will kick Mardi Gras weekend off right with the second annual Big Dick Contest Thurs. night, Feb. 19. Hosted by the fabulous Scarlett O'Hara Butler, the contest will begin upstairs at the Parade at Midnight. Contestants should register with any Parade bartender before Midnight. The cash grand prize will be awarded to the biggest overall dick, determined by length times circumference. Prizes are also awarded for thickest and longest. There will be a panel of celebrity judges to pass out the prizes in the more subjective categories, such as prettiest, best groomed and best "dressed". And as with last year's event, audience response is very important! Last year's Big Dick Contest had over 15 contestants, and people are STILL talking about it! Don't miss this year's event!! The contest starts at Midnight, and admission is FREE before 10pm.

The Bourbon Pub and Parade are located at 801 Bourbon St. at the corner of St. Ann. The Parade is located upstairs. For more information, please call 504.529.2107.

On The Boulevard At Bourbon Pub & Rubyfruit Jungle

On The Boulevard, a new half-hour skit comedy video series produced exclusively for a national gay and lesbian audience, is making its national debut in over 45 major U.S. cities in March and New Orleans is one of them with showings at the Bourbon Pub, March 18 & 31 at 8pm and at Rubyfruit Jungle, Mar. 18 & 25; also on Mar. 18 see it at Clover Grill or the Coppertop Bar.

Upbeat, fast-paced and totally irreverent, the show takes a new approach to traditional skit comedy, putting a gay 90's spin on the genre. Similar to other successful skit comedy shows such as The Kids in the Hall, In Living Color, and Saturday Night Live, On The Boulevard adds a fresher, queerer twist.

But you won't see it on TV! Rather than running on broadcast or cable television, the series is being distributed directly to the gay and lesbian audience exclusively through gay and lesbian video bars, clubs, resorts, etc.-more than 120 of which in over 45 cities have already eagerly agreed to showcase the program, with more establishments signing up all the time. Nationally, over 70,000 viewers are expected to see the premiere episode!

The award-winning first episode is a non-stop fun-house ride through some familiar aspects of gay and lesbian life. One skit features a disheveled lesbian, late for work, as she flirts with the woman in the next car. She watches in astonishment as the woman transforms herself from a curlered coffee-sipper to a lipstick-lesbian business woman in the time it takes for the light to change.

The cast of On The Boulevard includes talented lesbian and gay thespians from across the country. Cindy Collins and Mark Brey are New York-based actors that have done extensive work both on and off Broadway, with a particular flair for musical theatre. Amy Higgens, D. J. Grabe and Doug Wilson are Los Angeles-based actors working both in regional theatre and on film and television projects. For more information, visit their website at: http://www.ontheblvd.com.
