AUSTIN/CENTRAL TEXASThe phenomenon that is Always...Patsy Cline continues at Zachary Scott Theatre, 1510 Toomey Road. Star Jessica Welch has been making personal appearances at the Guy Town nightclubs, crooning for the crowds and having a ball. Marketing Director Jim Reynolds reports that the show has been held over yet again, this time until at least the end of March. But don’t wait to see this amazing show - tickets for the extension are going fast.

The Gaslight Theatre at 204 N. Main in Lockhart presents Amy Fox’s play Summer Cyclone through March 27. Billed as a "heart-breaking drama," the show tells the story of a woman dealing with the tragic reality of a fatal diagnosis, where she also learns to open up and love again. Producers promise the show is sure to touch anyone who has questioned the requirements of a relationship, and the struggle to live when life seems beyond hope.

Tinderbox13.com presents the second installment of The Rawk Show on March 10 through 21 at Gallery Lombardi, 910 W. Third Street. This year’s show, curated by Legendary Austin performer Nathan James, will feature original artwork and photography created by members of The B-52’s, Devo, Romeo Void, Kajagoogoo, White Zombie, GWAR, Sophie B. Hawkins, Lisa Coleman (Prince & the Revolution), Concrete Blonde, Babes in Toyland, and 40 other artists.
Two parties are planned to celebrate the exhibit, with a film night on March 13 from 6pm to 9pm benefiting the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, followed by the big opening party on March 18 from 6pm to 10pm. Performers Eric Himan, The Dirty Sweets, Hazard County Girls, Sweet J.A.P., and special surprise guests will entertain at the opening night, with drag goddesses Taylor Trinity and Chlamydia Burns hosting the festivities.

Women & Their Work has garnered strong critical praise for their retrospective exhibition in celebration of Austin artist Tré Arenz, which will be on view at their 1710 Lavaca gallery through March 27. Nationally recognized and widely exhibited in more than 100 solo and group exhibitions, Tré Arenz called Austin her home until her untimely death in May 2003.
Arenz’s style is whimsical in its use of domestic the everyday objects to relay her themes. The exhibition includes more than 20 ceramic sculptures, three installation photographs and a DVD slide presentation of Tré Arenz work. Call the gallery at 512.477.1064 for more information.
Rude Mechanicals are partnering with Women & Their Work to present Angela Kariotis in Reminiscence of the Ghetto & Other Things That Raized Me. The show is billed as a powerhouse one-woman show about what it’s like to grow up Greek in the Jersey Ghetto and explores Kariotis’ developing perspective in the midst of uncontrollable circumstances.
