Hello! I searched the net for info on Mardi Gras and luckily found you guys. The info you provided helped me have a great time at the Mardi Gras. I want to thank you for it.
I was at Mardi Gras in 73 & 74 while stationed at the Naval Air Station in New Orleans. The fun and excitement was better than i remembered. This time around I'm "out"...LOL
Your Gay Mardi Gras site is super; very fast and great pics. I'm using it to show my friends exactly what Mardi Gras is all about. I was at your bead toss and had a wonderful time. The Hadies theme was great and Float #69 was beautiful at night.
I took my nieces and nephews and my sister along for the trip. They said they had the best fun in the gay section of town. We all want to come back to Mardi Gras next year.
Again, thank you for creating such a great web site and for all the hard and wonderful work you do for the gay community. Till next year...

P.S. I think my nephew and I are in one of your "Show me someting mister" Pics...LOLFrom: Zorro5OOO

Your page is really very professional and creative. The pictures are very clear and interesting. But when I heard the Phantom of the Opera come on, I fell in love. This is a great help for those of us planning to come to Paris. From: Ritchls3 Ritchls3@aol.com

Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale "Mario Mieli" wrote:
The italian police is going to close all the most important meeting places for g/l/b/t people. This is to show a "pure" and "immaculate" city for the jubilee.
On friday the 20th of February 15 policemen brutally closed down the disco "Muccassasina", which is the finacial backbone for all the political and social activites of Mario Mieli, as well as the most popular disco in Italy with 2000-2800 guests each friday. They have already closed another g/l/b/t place - "The drag cafe" in Rome. They also want to close all the open cruising areas. This happened immediately after a Livia Turco, ministary of the Social Affair from the PDS party, first declared her openess and support to legalise all couples, regardless of gender, and then the Pope during his visit with the Spanish bishops condemened same sex marriage.
Imma Battaglia, the president of Mario Mieli, says that this is a way to try to silence the queer movement. "They know that within the next few weeks we will announce the Rome World Pride 2000, and are afraid of the impact this will have on the society at large. They also know that the only income we have for all our activites comes from the Muccassasina. Without that money we cannot continue our increasingly successful work for freedom and civil rights for all queer people. This is their strategy. They are trying to silence us.
Now we really need the queer community all around the world to unite and globally work to end discrimination based on sexuality and gender. "From: KatyCwbys@aol.com

Subject: Entertainers/Auditions
I went to this web site because I thought that it would have to do with auditions for lesbian entertainers. Since I am of this ilk and so is my duo partner I wonder if there is another page that I could go to for information for entertainers that would like to become more involved in the gay and lesbian community as entertainers. Would appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks.

Hi, Well I didn't get to make it down for Mardi Gras this year, but I sure appreciate your help in trying to find a place to stay. The weather was fab as was your view from the balcony- I'm sure. Loved the write up of the Ball on the 10th. Again, sorry I couldn't make it. Everything just happens so fast. (Or am I getting too slow?) Anyway hope a good time was had by all. warmly,
