First Women's Event at Disneyworld Gay Day 1998!
M ariah Hanson Presents is proud to announce it has been invited to produce the first ever official women's party associated with Gay Day at The Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL. Prior to 1998, the events surrounding Gay Day at the Magic Kingdom did not include a formal women's party hosted by a lesbian event company. 80,000 gays and lesbians are estimated to attend this annual and fast growing event.
"Many woman promoters expressed an interest, but without prior solicitation we actually contacted Mariah Hanson," says Leila Hunter owner of Good Time Tours. The facility, Arabian Nights, has been chosen for the event. It is anticipated to be one of the single largest lesbian parties on the East Coast.
The first annual Club Skirts "Harem" during Gay Day at The Magic Kingdom takes place Sat., June 6, at 9pm at 6225 W. Bronson Hwy., just outside the West Gate at Disneyland.
For ticket information on the first annual Club Skirts "harem" party, call 888.5.SKIRTS. For travel and accommodations, please call Good Time Tours at 888.429.3527.
25,000 Lesbians Heat Up Palm Springs!
C lub Skirts, San Francisco and Girl Bar, Los Angeles are proud to announce The 8th Annual Club Skirts & Girl Bar Dinah Shore Weekend, March 26-29, at the Wyndham and Marquis Hotels.
The weekend is touted by the gay and lesbian press as the largest lesbian getaway in the world, and has become the straight media's favorite "lesbian Chic" event. Past feature articles have appeared in Buzz Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Examiner, LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, as well as Fox News, Channel 4 England, Nightline and various documentaries.
Last year, Titleist, a major golf equipment manufacturer, was so incensed by the media attention Sports Illustrated paid to The Club Skirts & Girl Bar Dinah Shore Weekend, they pulled over $1,000,000 worth of advertising from the unsuspecting Sports Magazine. This gesture sent a strong message to women athletes that "golf and lesbians don't mix!"
But they do, like an Absolut Vodka and tonic! Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism estimates between 15,000 and 25,000 women attend the parties and tournament. The weekend's fiscal impact on the City of Palm Springs is so positive, the republican Mayor presented the lesbian promoters, Sandy Sachs and Robins Gans of Girl Bar, and Mariah Hanson of Club Skirts with a proclamation making March 29, 1997 "Gay Tourism Day!"
Customers may obtain a detailed brochure outlining activities and events by calling 1.888.44.DINAH. To reserve a room, call The Wyndham Hotel at 760.322.6000 or The Marquis at 760.322.2121.
