George Simons and Electra City were announced as Easter Grand Marshals (EGMs) IV at the Easter Grand Marshals Coronation March 16 at the Friendly Bar in New Orleans. EGMs I Rip & Marsha Naquin-Delain, EGM II Larry Bagneris, Jr. and EGM III Timm Holt made the announcement and presentation along with Gay Easter Parade Founder Lance Ford and Producer Carl Ford. The late EGM II Miss Do was represented by Doc.

The crowd danced to the sounds of Eclipse, the band, who graciously donated their services for the event. Big Daddy Lou and the Friendly Bar gang also prepared quite a spread for the complimentary buffet.

The grand marshals were chosen for their past participation in the parade and commitment to community. Simons is the manager of Le Roundup and City is co-proprietress of Queen Fashions.

Simons and City will lead the 4th Annual Official New Orleans Gay Easter Parade: Friends Helping Friends, Easter Sun., April 20th, 4:30pm through the streets of the French Quarter.

The parade benefits Food For Friends this year and is presented by Founder Lance Ford and Ambush Mag. Michael Bernard Boulas and Larry Wayne Anderson hosted their "Celebration of Commitment" at the beautiful Country Club in New Orleans. Over 300 friends and family members joined in the very moving ceremony as both Anderson and Boulas recited their commitment vows to each other.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a lavish brunch served pool side at the private club. Later that very same evening, the couple entertained guests at their Royal St. home for a dinner and dance reception.

at Chet's Queens' Pub Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans. Beginning with 12th Night, Chet's hosted a Queens Cake Party and whoever got the baby won a jesters hat, a $10 bar tab, and a chance in the drawing for Chester Jester I. Wemhoner, as the lucky winner, received $100 cash, the Chester Jester crown, jester porcelain baby and sash.

 

 

 

Bubbles and Candie celebrated their 18th Anniversary on St. Patrick's Day in New Orleans. The couple made a weekend of it and on the big day, March 17th, dressed appropriately in holiday attire, doing an extensive bar run through the French Quarter.

 

Estelle barbacked for celebrity guest bartender Irish Mike at Voodoo celebrating St. Patrick's Day on the N. Rampart St. strip in New Orleans. Irish Mike later appeared at his own club, Ninth Circle at Congo Square.

Before Irish Mike's arrival at Ninth Circle, the 3 Leprechauns, Irish Rick, Irish Tony and Irish Frank popped in for their stint on St. Pat's Day.
