Gay Easter Parade (GEP) board members Electra City and Tittie join Easter Grand Marshals VI Lisa Beaumann and James Swire, GEP board members Marsha and Rip Naquin-Delain, and Double Play proprietor Chuck Turner for the 6th annual Purple Party Grand Marshals Receptions raising $1,452, hosted at the Double Play in New Orleans. The food, decorations and prizes were donated by the Double Play along with a food donation from Charlie Hooper and Petunias, and raffle prizes donated by Double Play owners Chuck and Bill, Double Play employees, Corner Pocket and Le Roundup. The event brought in a $200 donation from Jerry P., $200 from the egg raffles, $503 from the door, and $313 from prize raffles matched by $313 from Chuck and Bill. The parade benefits Food For Friends.

The Krewe of Mwindo presented a $100 Bronze sponsorship to the 6th Official Gay Easter Parade benefiting Food For Friends, making the organization the first krewe to make such a sponsorship. Andromeda, Rikki Redd and Selena help raise $226 at the Gay Easter Parade Benefit Show hosted by the Golden Lantern in New Orleans. All of the entertainers donated their stage tips to the Gay Easter Parade and Food For Friends.

 
 

EGM VI James Swire joins Gay Easter Parade Benefit Show hostess Rikki Redd at the Golden Lantern in New Orleans which raised $226 for the parade and Food For Friends.

The Alice in Leatherland gala hosted by honorary Easter Bunny Wally Sherwood raised $737 for the Gay Easter Parade and Food For Friends at the Phoenix in New Orleans. The event brought in $247 in stage tips, $75 from the beer bust (donated by the Phoenix), $65 from the 50/50 raffle, $150 from the hand crafted action figures auction (donated by Phoenix Mgr. DB), and two $100 Bronze sponsorships by Doc Reed and the King Cake Queen Royalty Club. Josh poses with the St. Joseph's Day Altar at Coffee, Friends, and... in New Orleans on the Saint's feast day, March 19. This is the only gay establishment which host a St. Joseph's Day Altar in the Crescent City.

 

Rollin' on the River, Beauty with a Cause! raised almost $8,000 for the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, New Orleans Affiliate, through salon services, auction and raffle drawings by Salon D'Malta, Eclipse Salon/Spa, Arthur's House of Glamour, Hair Asylum, Mickey Nolan Salon, Head Ink and Headquarters.

 

Sasha St. James won the Miss Splash America 2005 crown in stiff competition at Splash in Louisiana's capital city, Baton Rouge. St. James will now go on to compete in Miss Gay Louisiana America. Alternates included 1st Arilyn Roberts and 2nd Nicole Foxx.

 

Winner Jim Thompson of New Iberia, joins emcee Phyllis (The Big Diva) Denmark, and runner-up Eric Sins of Covington at the 2005 Mr. Prime Beef Contest hosted by the Phoenix in New Orleans.

 

Twelve bikes and their riders were blessed at the Cavaliers annual Blessing of the Bikes by the Rev. Dexter Brecht of Metropolitan Community Church of Greater New Orleans at the Mardi Gras arch in Armstrong Park, before a ride to Casino Magic! in Bay St. Louis.

 

Hoyle, Stan, Donnie, Caroline and Doc celebrate Peter's birthday at Double Play in New Orleans.
