LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANAFirst thing's first--an introduction. My name is James, and I am your new Ambush representative for the Lafayette area. I look forward to representing our great area and covering events and the Acadiana party scene. A much deserved "Thank You" to my predecessor, Jay Norris, for his years of dedication and commitment to Ambush & Lafayette. Jay will continue to write feature articles in our magazine. Look for these in future issues.
Lafayette's night scene was pleasingly active recently. As our party train headed out for a night of mingling, music and mixed drinks, we first noticed that all of the bars were packed.
The mix of music at Mo Jo Monkey's was making its effect on everyone from the girls dancing at the front door to the crowded dance floor. I was unable to stand still! Stevie and Dawn definitely know how to please the crowd and provide the atmosphere and music that keep us all coming back for more.
Jules was full, flowing out into the patio which hosted its share of excitement as well. We not only had a great parking spot in the garage, but had the joy of visiting on the patio with the always beautiful Miss Yvette--an ovation to owners Randy & Ron for the personal service provided to their clientele! Gina & Buddy were mixing drinks faster than Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktails played in fast forward.
The climax of the night was the Mr, Miss & Ms ROU competition at the Sound Factory. John Gilland keeps providing us with the utmost in events and live entertainment. The performances by the competitors were sizzling and captivating. It was obvious that they put in a great deal of time and practice. Congratulations on great a production and a special "hail!" to the newly crowned royalty. Great job!
Seen and noted...Stephanie Stevens...fabulous emceeing. Taylor Stevens...a breathtaking performance as usual. Dennis...looking great these days. Alexis...you are a one in a million. Ted...thanks for always making me smile. Nelson ...we'll catch one next time...and to the door babes at the Sound Factory: when your picture is published your mothers will know!
I was, however, surprised how hard it is to get people to take pictures for a magazine we all enjoy reading. We'll work on that! It was a wonderful night out and the party train is gearing up for the next ride! Until then, play safe!
