THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW RETURNS TO NOLA TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY

October 13, 2025 By Community Contributor

NEW ORLEANS – October 13, 2025 – The longest-running theatrical release in film history is returning to New Orleans to celebrate its 50th anniversary! Fans will be able to meet and talk with Nell Campbell, the acclaimed star of this original cult classic in person. Her iconic portrayal of “Columbia” has thrilled generations of fans for 50 years.

Audiences will have an opportunity to meet Nell, participate in a costume contest and interact with a live performance by the local shadow cast, The Well-Hung Speakers. They’ll be performing scenes from the movie ‘live’ on stage while the full, unedited film is shown behind them.

Says Nell Campbell: “I never would have thought all these years later we’d be touring our little ‘ol film. I’m so thrilled to get back on the road and to meet several generations of fans. Looking forward to a lot of fun just like it always was!”

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the iconic little movie that conquered Hollywood. The hit movie stars Tim Curry as the devious and fabulous Frank-N-Furter; Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as everybody’s favorite nerdy couple, Brad and Janet; Meatloaf as ex-delivery boy Eddie who dates a groupie; Columbia played by Nell Campbell; and Patricia Quinn as Magenta, servant to Riff Raff who is played by the film’s creator, Richard O’Brien. The film has become one of the longest weekly showing movies in the world.

Limited VIP tickets are available and include a meet and greet with Campbell. Nothing beats a Rocky Horror screening where you can jump up and dance to the Time Warp in this live, interactive experience. It’s a one of a kind “happening”. Come up to the lab and see what’s on the slab!

Tickets for The Rocky Horror Picture Show are on sale now at MahaliaJacksonTheater.com.
