Integrity Health and Wellness and New Orleans Lambda Center Launch “SOBER 4 TODAY” Initiative at Southern Decadence 2024

August 27, 2024 By Community Contributor

New Orleans, LA – August 27, 2024 – As Southern Decadence, one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in New Orleans and the United States, approaches this weekend, Integrity Health and Wellness, a local and holistic primary care practice, in collaboration with the New Orleans Lambda Center, the LGBTQ+ recovery clubhouse, is proud to announce the launch of the “SOBER 4 TODAY” initiative. This program is designed to support and celebrate sobriety within the LGBTQ+ community during this iconic event.

A Social Experiment in Solidarity

“SOBER 4 TODAY” is not just an initiative; it’s a social experiment aimed at promoting solidarity in sobriety. This initiative seeks to visually distinguish and connect individuals who are navigating their sobriety journey during Southern Decadence. By leaning into the “one day at a time” mantra that resonates deeply within sobriety circles, “SOBER 4 TODAY” encourages participants to know they are not alone in their journey.

Messages of Hope and Community

“The ‘SOBER 4 TODAY’ initiative is about creating a safe and supportive environment for those in our community who choose sobriety,” said Dr. Jacob Rickoll of Integrity Health and Wellness. “We are honored to collaborate with the New Orleans Lambda Center in this endeavor and believe this will create meaningful connections, spark interesting conversations, and provide helpful resources during Southern Decadence.”

“We love the idea of ‘SOBER 4 TODAY’ because we know sobriety is a one day at a time experience. We’re excited to serve as the sobriety resources partner by offering up literature and connections to community establishments that do a great deal for those who are interested in sobriety,” said Austin Addison, Vice Chair of the New Orleans Lambda Center.
