Halloween New Orleans (HNO) is an all-volunteer organization with an important philanthropic goal: to raise as much money as possible for Project Lazarus through producing the best Halloween event in New Orleans.
Project Lazarus began in 1985 to provide end-of-life care for people dying of AIDS. HNO was committed to supporting these individuals and provided desperately needed resources to Project Lazarus. Since then, HNO has donated over $4.6 million and has remained committed to Project Lazarus as it has transformed from a hospice to a transitional home for people living with HIV/AIDS. As we have done for 38 years, HNO contributes 100% of our proceeds to Project Lazarus, which provides private, fully furnished rooms, three meals a day (Project Lazarus serves over 20,000 meals annually), 24-hour care, medication assistance and health monitoring, educational and vocational programming, substance abuse treatment, and more for its residents.
The theme for 2021 is ARCADE, and to maximize our donation to Project Lazarus, HNO has a full complement of fundraising events planned for Halloween weekend: Saturday, Oct. 30, is Level Up, our dance party and costume event at The Howlin’ Wolf; and Sunday, Oct. 31 is Game Over, a tea dance at Oz.
