LGBTQ Horoscopes during the Corona Virus

April 6, 2020 By Dan Beck

Corona. What just came to mind? Of course the virus that has caused mass disruption on a global scale is unique to this moment. I say unique because the world at this point is more interconnected by media, transportation, and economies than ever before. Thus, when a modern virus appears, it can spread literally and spiritually, by nature and fear.

But the principal meaning of corona, different than the one that initially popped into your head, is the outermost region of the sun’s atmosphere that becomes visible during an eclipse. When I learned this, I struggled to ponder what the astrological symbol of corona could mean. I did a little digging and found out that the sun’s atmosphere made visible during an eclipse is comprised of plasma.

The last solar eclipse occurred in December, right around the time coronavirus was ramping up. Most would interpret this as an ominous sign, but many of the great astrologers and diviners teach us to find the silver lining when the heavens look difficult. After some more research, I found that scientists are looking into the plasma of recovered coronavirus victims to develop treatments. That would be something if a difficult eclipse also held the metaphorical clue to its abatement.

On a personal level, I think the coronavirus calamity can be interpreted as a symbolic call to reconnect with home, family, and all things that nourish us. The north node of the moon, which indicates karmic future, is suggesting as much by continuing her transit through the emotive sign of Cancer through May. This is not easy, financially or functionally, but it does allow time for rest, meditation, and creativity. Whatever may have been ailing you pre-corona (and, hopefully now, not the virus itself) can be quelled by reconnecting with your center and finding a grounding that perhaps has been lost on you for some time.

Aries: March 21 – April 19

Happy birthday, Aries! You’re wanting to surge ahead this month, but where you really make gains is on the home front. You have a great window from now until the beginning of May to do some work around the house. Put your considerable physical drive to good use. If you don’t, you’ll go stir crazy.

Taurus: April 20 – May 20

Your loving mood lasts through the first day of April, but where will you direct this fleeting energy? You have a real chance to give some love to your daily routines. As I’ve written about in the past, your daily activities determine the larger blocks of time in your life. This is a pragmatic way to understand the concept of “timelessness”, that looking into one moment yields a glimpse into your eternity.

Gemini: May 21- June 20

It is imperative that you stay spiritually grounded right now, and you do have ample resources to make this happen for yourself. This will require retreating, and might be a challenge because things are unclear at work at this moment. Your head is at work, but it stays clear at home, psychologically and spiritually. You also have a deep urge to get out amongst friends, but astrologically and with the current state of things, this is not advised.

Cancer: June 21 – July 22

The personal gains you’ve made over the past year and a half should stand you in good stead. This is putting pressure right now on your career and relationships that arise from your work life. Through May, bet on yourself. You might feel the strong urge to retreat to partnerships, but right now it’s about self-care and protection.

Leo: July 23 – August 22

You’re feeling the urge to travel right now, but clearly that will not happen. The God Makemake is opposed to the idea but offers you the chance to spiritually travel in your local environment. Reading, writing, and reasonable contact with neighbors can take you to greater heights than a literal trip would have. You won’t miss what wasn’t that great to begin with.

Virgo: August 23 – September 22

For the first time since the early 2000s you have the chance to get your daily routine in maximum operating order. This will take psychological and emotional discipline, and you might get sidetracked by romantic urges. Think of your future, though. Automating and using technology will help you in this effort.

Libra: September 23 – October 22

You have the most relationship energy out of all the signs right now, and hey, as the most relationship oriented sign, go for it. You have good fortune here, but make sure to enjoy this relationship on a deep level. It’s ok to be satisfied on the earthiest level. Just because you’re an air sign doesn’t mean you can’t get down and dirty!

Scorpio: October 23 – November 21

With all of the disruptive changes right now, you need to get things on the home front in order. Using technology is an opportunity afforded to you right now as long as you stay disciplined with it. The gift of technology through modernity provides the greatest of possibilities but also invites the devil of modern media to wreak havoc. Wield these resources judiciously.

Sagittarius: November 22 – December 21

As the most expansive sign of the zodiac, the recent shift to social isolation affects you more than most. The best way to counteract this is by using social media in a healthy way. What I mean by healthy is using the tools of communication to connect with those you otherwise would. Don’t fall for the illusion of “travelling” by getting sucked into screens.

Capricorn: December 22 – January 19

The losses you have been feeling over the past year and a half are about to end. Hopefully as a result you’ve made gains in your relationships. The next year and a half will be about getting your daily activities in order. This is where you make progress. What you will need to let go of is how your newfound control of your daily life expresses to the larger collective. Either you control your circumstances or they will control you.

Aquarius: January 20 – February 18

These next couple of years will be about work—getting down to work to lay the groundwork for your future. You have enormous potential here, but you need to be both the visionary and the pragmatist. What do you need to let go in order to see yourself in the future you so desire? Let this guiding principle inform every decision.

Pisces: February 19 – March 20

Refrain from making any decisions regarding your home until at least the second week of April. Your body and head are not in their optimal place right now. By the beginning of May, your thinking is at its peak, and then you can start making progress on the home front. This is a long process, but over the next year and a half come May, you will see the biggest gains with home and family than any other part of your life.
