Southern Decadence is right around the corner and there are so many events leading up to the big weekend. You can feel the excitement in the air. Here’s just a sampling of some exciting happenings. 3rd Annual Bette Bathhouse and Beyond: Allways Lounge & Cabaret; 2240 St. Claude Ave.; 9 p.m. – 3 a.m. Daniel Nardicio brings Bette Bathhouse and Beyond back to New Orleans for one night only during Southern Decadence weekend to the Allways Lounge. Powerhouse singer and comedienne Amber Martin recreates one of Bette Midler’s iconic shows at NYC’s infamous gay bathhouse the Continental Baths from 1971. The audience at the Allways Lounge will be required to don only towels (provided by the DWORLD NOLA staff) to recreate the vibe of the famed bathhouse.
