Brad “Danger” du Puy, the New Orleans Radical Faeries’ reigning Prince of Perversion (PoP), invites all to attend the 23rd PoP Ball to be held this year at Poor Boys Bar, 1328 St. Bernard Avenue in New Orleans’ Seventh Ward. The festivities will begin on Friday, September 4, at 8pm and will go till Midnight, but you don’t have to go home then. Poor Boys has a dance floor and a bar that will keep serving for as long as there’re people standing. The Collaring/Sashing of the new Prince shall be 10:00pm-ish.
This year’s theme is “A Spectacle of the Subversive”, celebrating everything that is eerie, strange, sensual, seductive and dangerous. The ball promises to be a feast of sights and sounds, where you will be delighted by the music of DJ Sunshine Edae. There will be a dizzying array of images to surround you and surprises to satisfy your darkest desires. Our venue has a large, secluded outdoor patio, so there’s no telling what unexpected pleasures you might find!
This is Southern Decadence, so you are encouraged to come in costume, fantasy/fetish gear, or just take it all off. The PoP Ball’s official colors are cobalt and taupe. All ages, body types and kinks are welcomed with the goal of an outrageous, but safe night. Anything goes, as long as you respect yourself and others. Consent is a must!
A suggested donation of $25, preferably cash, at the door, is requested but no one shall be turned away for lack of funds.
