Adam Steg, August 6, 1955-August 30, 2024.
Adam was born and raised in New Orleans. His father James was a well-known artist and art professor at Tulane. Adam graduated from Newman High School in 1973 and Syracuse University in 1976 with a B.A. in Media, specializing in Animation and Video. Adam worked at the French Consulate in New Orleans for many years and was Director of Audio-Visual Services. He was decorated by the Ambassador of France in 2010 with the Médaille d’Or du Mérite Francophone. Adam was an enthusiastic Carnival participant and wore many memorable costumes, including one of the seahorse costumes in the “It’s Carnival Time in Louisiana” exhibit in the Presbytere. He retired to Coral Gables, Florida. He is survived by his husband, Carlos Garcia, and a host of friends. Bon voyage, mon ami!
