Reality TV Legend Marguerite “God Warrior” Perrin Makes Stage Debut in “Dixie’s Holiday Bar” in New Orleans

November 24, 2025 By Tomy Acosta

New Orleans, LA — This holiday season, the spirits are high, the sequins are sparkling, and New Orleans is jingling all the way back to the heart of Bourbon Street in the 1950s! Leading the charge is none other than Marguerite “God Warrior” Perrin, making her stage debut in the immersive musical comedy Dixie’s Holiday Bar at Café Istanbul.

Best known for her unforgettable “She’s Not A Christian” meltdown on Trading Spouses in 2005 — a moment that instantly crowned her as a gay icon and pop-culture legend — Perrin now returns to the spotlight with a role that feels divinely destined. She stars as Miss Dixie, a real-life Bourbon Street trailblazer who protected queer patrons and performers during one of the city’s darkest eras.

“When I learned about Miss Dixie, I felt her in my heart,” says Perrin. “She stood up for love and acceptance when it wasn’t easy. I’ve always felt that same calling — and honey, I love Christmas, and I love the gays. So this show is heaven for me.”

Set in 1956, Dixie’s Holiday Bar invites audiences into a glitter-drenched nightclub for Miss Dixie’s annual Christmas Variety Show fundraiser. The stakes are high this year — a wild brawl earlier in the season left her beloved bar in shambles, and now Dixie and her unruly staff are scrambling to raise the repair funds before the police can shut them down. What follows is a night of chaos, cocktails, carols, and so much camp — a heartfelt celebration of chosen family and queer resilience, all wrapped in tinsel and sequins.

Created by Jason Derek North and Vaughn Trudeau and written by Quinn L. Bishop, the production blends live music, comedy, and immersive storytelling into a uniquely New Orleans experience that honors both the city’s LGBTQ+ history and its flair for spectacle. Aaron Jura and Benjamin Breaux are also on board as producers.

“Marguerite’s journey from viral meltdown to beloved queer ally inspired us to tell a story of redemption, courage and community in an era even more tumultuous for our community than our own,” says writer and co-producer Quinn L. Bishop. “She brings authenticity, heart, and pure camp magic to the role of Miss Dixie.”

Marguerite Perrin is joined by a brilliant cast of New Orleans-based performers including Victor Campbell, Tarah Cards, Monica R. Harris, Anya Sapozhnikova, Doug Spearman and Joey Algier.
